I am a huge Fante fan and am desperately trying to soak up as much Fante related info I can get my eyes on so this was very insightful.

I have read the four Bandini novels, Brotherhood of the grape, the two shorts in West of Rome and the stories in Wine of Youth and each story has provided me with such a mixture of laughter and sadness. Fante was such a talented writer who's writing seemed to flow so effortlessly from his soul onto paper. He could convey so much honest emotion and Italian passion through his writing you can't help but warm to all the characters regardless of how flawed they are.

Thanks again!Josh Knoreply@blogger.com
